Memory corruption via unchecked security parameter copy
Published Aug 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 7, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda A301 15.13.08.12 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via a crafted POST request. When WDS mode is disabled, formWifiBasicSet copies the POST body security value directly into a 256-byte stack buffer without a length check. The published proof of concept supplies 2,000 bytes but does not demonstrate reliable code execution, so the grounded consequence is memory corruption rather than confirmed takeover.
