Arbitrary file deletion via missing nonce validation
Published Aug 24, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Pixel Jar Favicon Generator 1.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary server files. The output_sub_admin_page_0 function processes file-deletion actions from forged administrative requests without validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to follow an attacker-controlled link, after which selected server files are removed.
