CVE-2024-7546

Service-account code execution via unchecked STK length

Published Aug 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Heap-based buffer overflow in oFono 2.3 SimToolKit parsing allows local users to execute code as the service account through STK PDUs. parse_dataobj_frame_layout subtracts one from a TLV length and copies that many bytes into its fixed-size size field without checking the destination bound. Exploitation requires prior code execution on the target modem, and successful corruption grants control of the oFono service process.
