CVE-2024-7526Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Sensitive-data disclosure via uninitialized WebGL outputs

Published Aug 6, 2024 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Uninitialized memory exposure in Mozilla Firefox, Firefox ESR, and Thunderbird allows remote attackers to read GPU data through WebGL. ANGLE leaves unwritten GLSL shader output parameters uninitialized, causing WebGL rendering to expose residual graphics-memory contents. A crafted WebGL shader is the gate; affected releases are Firefox before 129, Firefox ESR before 115.14 or 128.1, and Thunderbird before 115.14 or 128.1, while email scripting is normally disabled in Thunderbird.
