Cross-site scripting via DOM-clobbered compatibility shims
Published Aug 6, 2024 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
XSS in Mozilla Firefox before 129 and Firefox ESR before 115.14 or 128.1 allows remote attackers to run script in a site's origin. Enhanced Tracking Protection substitutes web-compatibility shims for blocked tracking scripts, and injected HTML can DOM-clobber values consumed by those shims, bypassing strict-dynamic CSP. Reachability requires a site that uses strict-dynamic CSP, activates an affected shim, and permits attacker-controlled HTML; the result is script execution in that site's origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
