Authenticated command execution via QUERY_STRING injection
Published Aug 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 7, 2024
Command injection in VIVOTEK CC8160 VVTK-0100d allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands via HTTP. In upload_file.cgi, getenv retrieves attacker-controlled QUERY_STRING data that reaches command processing without adequate neutralization. Network access and low-privileged authentication are required; successful exploitation runs commands in the CGI process's appliance context.
