Privilege escalation via forged network settings request
Published Sep 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
CSRF in XWP Stream 4.0.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to update arbitrary WordPress options through a forged administrator request. The network_options_action() handler processes network settings submissions without validating a WordPress nonce before writing attacker-chosen option values. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to submit the forged request, after which the changes can interrupt the site or elevate privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
