Snippet state changes via missing nonce validation
Published Aug 15, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
CSRF in XYZScripts Insert PHP Code Snippet 1.3.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter or delete snippets through forged requests. The bulk-action handler in admin/snippets.php accepts activation, deactivation, and deletion operations without validating a WordPress nonce. An attacker must induce a logged-in administrator to submit the request; the resulting state change is limited to stored snippet activation or deletion.
