CVE-2024-7404Network attack vector

Victim API access via preselected OAuth button

Published Nov 14, 2024 · Updated Nov 14, 2024

Cross-window forgery in GitLab CE/EE allows remote attackers to gain full API access as a victim through the Device OAuth flow. The authorization page gave its Authorize button an HTML id, allowing a URL fragment to preselect that control across windows and a keystroke to activate it. Exploitation requires the victim to open the crafted authorization URL and press Enter or Space; successful authorization grants the attacker the victim's API permissions.
