Authenticated memory corruption via oversized parental-rule fields
Published Aug 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Buffer overflow in TOTOLINK EX1200L 9.3.5u.6146_B20201023 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via parental-rule requests. The setParentalRules handler in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi accepts oversized week, sTime, and eTime values without enforcing a safe destination-buffer length. Administrative access to the web interface is required, and public records do not establish whether successful exploitation stops at a service crash or enables code execution.
