Stored XSS via unsanitized SVG uploads
Published Aug 27, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Ninja Tables 5.0.12 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through uploaded SVG files. The upload MIME filter admits SVG files without sanitizing active SVG content, and the plugin serves the stored file without neutralizing embedded script. Author-level access is required, and the script runs in a visitor's browser when the uploaded SVG is opened, enabling browser-context data access and modification.
