SYSTEM code execution via unvalidated update path
Published Jul 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Path traversal in Comodo Internet Security Pro 12.2.4.8032 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges. The update mechanism accepts a user-supplied path without validating that it remains within an authorized directory before using it in privileged file operations. Exploitation requires the ability to run low-privileged code locally; successful abuse elevates that code to SYSTEM.
