Administrator account takeover via forged password change
Published Jul 30, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in SourceCodester Medicine Tracker System 1.0 allows remote attackers to change an administrator password. The save_user action in /classes/Users.php accepts a password-changing POST without verifying the existing password or a request-specific token. An administrator must remain authenticated and submit attacker-controlled form data, after which the attacker can lock the administrator out and access the application with the chosen password.
