Authenticated database reads via injected user ID
Published Jul 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
SQL injection in SourceCodester Complaints Report Management System using PHP/MySQLi 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read database data via id. The /admin/manage_user.php handler incorporates the request-controlled id value into a database query without neutralizing SQL syntax, allowing the query structure to be changed. Access to the administrative users page is required, and the published proof of concept demonstrates retrieval of the database server banner.
