CVE-2024-7186Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via oversized ACL comment

Published Jul 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Buffer overflow in TOTOLINK A3600R 4.1.2cu.5182_B20201102 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The setWiFiAclAddConfig handler in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi processes the comment request-body parameter without enforcing a safe length, overflowing its destination buffer. The authenticated management interface is required, and a crafted comment corrupts memory with router crash or code-execution consequences.
