Authenticated service crash via oversized device-name parameters
Published Jul 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Buffer overflow in TOTOLINK A3600R 4.1.2cu.5182_B20201102 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router via a crafted request. The setdeviceName handler in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi accepts deviceMac and deviceName values without adequate length validation; the exact unsafe copy operation is undisclosed. Low-privileged management access is required, and oversized values can corrupt process memory and interrupt router service.
