Browser script execution via unescaped player parameters
Published Jul 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Reflected XSS in SeaCMS 12.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in a victim's browser through a crafted player URL. The player index.php places color inside a style block and vid or url inside a script block without neutralizing attacker-supplied closing tags. A victim must open the crafted URL; injected JavaScript then runs in the affected page's browser context and can alter displayed content.
