CVE-2024-7139

Service interruption via unchecked L2CAP packet length

Published Dec 19, 2024 · Updated May 28, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in RS9116W WiSeConnect 2.10.4 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to interrupt service via L2CAP. The Bluetooth L2CAP packet path fails to validate a supplied length before a buffer write, so an oversized packet overflows the buffer and triggers an assertion. Recovery is automatic only when a watchdog timer is enabled; otherwise, service remains unavailable until a hard reset.
