CVE-2024-7096

Privilege escalation via SOAP user role assignment

Published May 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 3, 2025

Authorization bypass in multiple WSO2 products allows remote attackers to elevate self-registered users through SOAP admin services. WSO2 attributes the flaw to SOAP-admin business logic but has not disclosed the affected operation or how it mishandles role assignment. Exploitation requires exposed SOAP admin services, a nondefault internal attribute, a known custom role with nondefault permissions, and knowledge of both names.
