CVE-2024-7093Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unsandboxed message templates

Published Aug 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Code injection in Netflix Dispatch before 20240731 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through message templates. The notification service renders user-controlled Jinja blocks without sanitizing them or using a sandbox, so embedded command-line scripts run when notifications are sent. Administrative access permits template changes, while a non-admin must be the first user to create a message template; successful exploitation executes code in the notification service context.
