Authenticated SQL injection via unsanitized department ID
Published Jul 24, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
SQL injection in SourceCodester Employee and Visitor Gate Pass Logging System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read database data. The delete_department route inserts the attacker-controlled id parameter directly into an SQL statement without validation or parameterization. A valid application session and access to the administrative department function are required; the published proof of concept extracts the database name through an error response.
