Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped field label
Published Feb 14, 2025 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
Stored XSS in WPMU DEV Forminator Forms before 1.38.3 allows remote authenticated users to run script in another user's browser. The form builder stores an unsanitized Name-field Label containing HTML event-handler markup; reopening the Post Data block with Custom Fields enabled renders that label without output escaping. Administrator-level form-editing access is required even when unfiltered_html is disabled, and execution also requires a user to revisit the affected editor workflow.
