MFA bypass requiring active user interaction
Published Jul 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Improper authentication in OpenText Directory Services 24.2 allows remote attackers to bypass multi-factor authentication in particular scenarios. OpenText has not disclosed the affected request, handler, or authentication-state error that causes the MFA decision to be skipped. Successful exploitation requires active interaction by a targeted user and defeats the second factor, allowing access beyond the intended authentication gate.
