Unauthorized data resets via destructive GET requests

Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025

Cross-site request forgery in Open WebUI 0.3.8 allows remote attackers to reset application data through an administrator's active session. Four reset endpoints bind destructive database, memory, and upload operations to GET requests, allowing top-level navigation from a malicious site to invoke them. Exploitation requires administrator privileges and user interaction; the bounded consequences are unauthorized data deletion and service interruption.
