CVE-2024-7009Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Database reads via unparameterized FTS highlight delimiters

Published Aug 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

SQL injection in Kovid Goyal calibre Content Server 7.15.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read SQLite databases. The /fts/snippets/{book_ids} endpoint embeds attacker-controlled highlight_start and highlight_end values in SQLite FTS expressions without parameter binding. Access requires full-text-search permission on an FTS-enabled library; injection can read other SQLite files and perform limited filesystem writes.
