CVE-2024-6972Network attack vector

Secret disclosure via cleartext task-log output

Published Jul 25, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024

Information disclosure in Octopus Server 2024.1 before 2024.1.12759 and 2024.2 before 2024.2.9193 allows remote authenticated users to read secrets. Under undisclosed circumstances, task-log generation prints sensitive variable values in clear text instead of masking them; Octopus Deploy has not identified the responsible code path or trigger. Low-privilege network access to an affected task log is required, and the reported consequence is confidentiality loss without data modification or service interruption.
