Authenticated code execution via unrestricted avatar upload
Published Jul 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in University Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to upload executable PHP files. The st_update.php avatar handler accepts the personal_image upload without restricting its file type, permitting a PHP payload to reach the server. A registered student session and a valid StudentID parameter are required; executing the uploaded payload grants code execution under web-server privileges.
