Authenticated PHP upload via spoofed avatar type
Published Jul 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Flute CMS 0.2.2.4-alpha allows remote authenticated users to upload PHP code through the avatar page. ImagesController accepts a PHP file when a GIF89a header makes its detected type match the image allowlist while retaining the PHP extension. Any registered account can reach the flow, and successful exploitation stores attacker-controlled PHP content instead of an image.
