Authenticated script execution via reflected sort parameter
Published Jul 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Reflected XSS in sort.php in SourceCodester Record Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to run script in a user's browser. The endpoint inserts the POST sort parameter into its HTML response without neutralizing a closing quote or script markup. An authenticated session can submit the payload, but a browser must render the crafted response; the demonstrated consequence is attacker-controlled script execution in that browser.
