CVE-2024-6875Network attack vector

Authenticated denial of service via unreleased request buffers

Published Mar 28, 2025 · Updated Jun 26, 2026

Denial of service in Infinispan before 15.0.6 allows remote authenticated users to exhaust memory through repeated large REST Compare requests. The REST Compare handler fails to call HttpPostMultipartRequestDecoder.destroy(), leaving Netty request buffers unreleased after processing. Authentication protects the endpoint by default in Red Hat Data Grid; sustained requests can trigger an out-of-memory error and interrupt the service.
