Stored XSS via unchecked JSON color-scheme import
Published Jul 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in Redux WP LLC Redux Framework 4.4.12 through 4.4.17 allows remote attackers to inject scripts through unauthenticated JSON uploads. Redux_Color_Scheme_Import accepts and stores an uploaded color-scheme JSON file without authorization or capability checks. The upload is reachable without an account; stored scripts affect later page rendering, while failed filesystem initialization rarely enables remote code execution.
