Authenticated arbitrary file upload via unchecked AJAX action
Published Aug 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Media Library Assistant 3.18 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to upload arbitrary server files. The mla-inline-edit-upload-scripts AJAX action accepts uploaded content without validating its file type. Author-level access is required, and a dangerous uploaded file can enable remote code execution when the server executes it.
