Unauthenticated database manipulation via unsanitized signup username
Published Jul 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
SQL injection in Code Projects Simple Task List 1.0 allows remote attackers to read or modify database data through the signup form. The insertUserRecord function in signUp.php places the POST username parameter directly into SQL queries without sanitization or parameter binding. No authentication is required; crafted username values support blind, error-based, and stacked-query execution against the application's database.
