Unauthenticated file disclosure via unchecked transfer requests
Published Jul 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Missing authorization in the NI VeriStand Gateway 2024 Q2 and earlier allows remote attackers to read File Transfer resources. The Gateway's File Transfer resource handler serves requested resources without performing the authorization check that should restrict access. Network access to the Gateway transfer service is sufficient, and NI's CVSS assessment limits the demonstrated consequence to confidentiality loss.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
