Stored XSS via unsanitized SVG uploads
Published Aug 27, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Jegtheme Jeg Kit for Elementor 2.6.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through SVG uploads. The SVG handling path in lib/jeg-framework/customizer/class-customizer.php accepts uploaded SVG markup without sufficient sanitization and later emits it without output escaping. Author-level access is required, and the stored script runs in a browser when the uploaded SVG file is accessed, enabling page-context data access or modification.
