CVE-2024-6786Network attack vector

Arbitrary file read via MQTT path traversal

Published Sep 21, 2024 · Updated Sep 26, 2024

Path traversal in Moxa MXview One Series 1.4.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files via MQTT. Its MQTT message handler accepts relative path traversal sequences in a file path without confining resolution to an intended directory. Low-privileged MQTT access is required; exposed files include configuration data and JWT signing secrets, with no reported write effect.
