Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attribute
Published Aug 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Stored XSS in Shortcodes Ultimate Pro before 7.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through an su_plan shortcode. The su_plan renderer outputs the btn_background attribute into page markup without validating or escaping an injected event handler. Contributor-level access is sufficient to store the shortcode, and script executes when another user views the affected post or page.
