CVE-2024-6758Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via crafted protection-assignment requests

Published Aug 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 22, 2025

Privilege escalation in Sprecher Automation SPRECON-E before 8.71j allows remote authenticated users to save unauthorized protection assignments. The HTTP(S) request handler accepts specially generated requests that save reduced-rights protection assignments independently of the caller's assigned role. Exploitation requires configured web-interface access but does not occur directly through the web interface, and unauthorized assignments alter protection configuration.
