Arbitrary file read via unfiltered URL traversal
Published Jul 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Path traversal in EasySpider 0.6.2 for Windows allows remote attackers on the local network to read arbitrary files through HTTP requests. The HTTP GET handler in resources/app/server.js uses URL paths containing ../ for file lookup without rejecting traversal outside the intended directory. The service listens on localhost:8074 by default, so exposure requires local access or a configuration that makes the port reachable; retrieved files can include Windows system data and cookies under user_data.
