Subscriber post writes via missing capability check
Published Aug 3, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Sync Post With Other Site 1.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to create or update WordPress posts. The sps_add_update_post function accepts post data from Subscriber-level requests and invokes post creation or update operations without checking the caller's capability. Subscriber-level access is required, and the bounded impact is unauthorized draft creation or modification of existing posts.
