CVE-2024-6672Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via getMonitorJoin SQL injection

Published Aug 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 30, 2024

SQL injection in Progress WhatsUp Gold before 2024.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to reset a privileged user’s password. The getMonitorJoin API endpoint passes attacker-controlled input into an SQL operation without neutralizing SQL syntax. A low-privileged account is required; exploitation changes a privileged user’s password and enables takeover of that account.
