CVE-2024-6671Network attack vector

Encrypted-password disclosure via injectable statistical-monitor query

Published Aug 29, 2024 · Updated Sep 25, 2024

SQL injection in a Progress WhatsUp Gold API endpoint before 2024.0.0 allows remote attackers to retrieve the sole user's encrypted password. GetStatisticalMonitorList incorporates attacker-controlled input into a database query without properly neutralizing SQL syntax. Exploitation requires a single-user configuration, and the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of that account's encrypted password.
