Application hang via overflowing TDMS file calculation
Published Jul 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Integer overflow in NI LabVIEW 2024 Q1 and earlier allows attackers to hang the application by supplying a crafted TDMS file. The TDMS reader insufficiently validates file data, allowing an integer calculation to overflow and enter an infinite processing loop. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted file; the documented consequence is an availability-only application hang.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
