Privilege escalation in PI Media JSON API User 3.9.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to register WordPress administrator accounts. The register endpoint writes attacker-supplied custom_fields entries into user metadata without blocking role-bearing keys. The JSON API dependency and User controller must be installed and enabled, and successful exploitation grants full site-administration privileges.
