CVE-2024-6619

Privilege escalation via writable critical files

Published Aug 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 14, 2024

Incorrect permissions in Ocean Data Systems Dream Report 2023 and AVEVA Reports for Operations 2023 allow local users to escalate privileges. Overly permissive access-control lists on installation and project files allow unprivileged accounts to read or overwrite projects and installation content. Local low-privilege access is required; successful tampering can elevate privileges or interrupt the application, while the vendor identifies no narrower file or service locus.
