Stored XSS via unescaped CSS setting
Published Sep 13, 2024 · Updated Sep 13, 2024
Stored XSS in NinjaTeam Header Footer Custom Code before 1.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through its CSS setting. The plugin stores CSS input without sufficient sanitization or output escaping, so a closing style tag can introduce a script element into rendered pages. Administrator privileges are required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites that disable unfiltered_html; a visitor must load an injected page for the script to run.
