CVE-2024-6608Public exploitNetwork attack vector

UI redressing via escaped iframe pointer lock

Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Oct 30, 2025

UI redressing in Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird before 128 allows remote attackers to move the cursor beyond the application window. Pointer lock in a cross-origin iframe remains active when a browser-chrome popup opens, allowing native recentering to place the pointer over permission prompts or the desktop. A user must open the crafted page and interact with it; resulting clicks can grant unintended site permissions or drag local files into the iframe.
