Unauthenticated arbitrary email sending via unchecked AJAX callbacks
Published Jul 27, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Ultimate WordPress Auction Plugin 4.2.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to send crafted emails to any address. The send_auction_email_callback and resend_auction_email_callback AJAX handlers accept attacker-supplied email content and recipients without a capability check. No authentication is required; abuse changes outgoing email content and can distribute attacker-chosen links through the site's mail service.
