Reflected XSS via unescaped media_url parameter
Published Jul 12, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in Blubrry PowerPress 11.9.10 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts via a crafted media_url request. The player code places the request's media_url value into generated page output without sufficient sanitization or contextual escaping. Exploitation requires a victim to open an attacker-supplied link, and the injected script runs in that victim's browser under the affected site's origin.
