Editor-level browser script execution via unescaped project names
Published Jul 30, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Dylan James Zephyr Project Manager before 3.3.99 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in an editor's browser. The zpm_new_project AJAX action accepts an attribute-breaking project_name value without sanitization, and the project editor renders the stored name without escaping. Editor or administrator access is required, and execution occurs when a user opens the affected project; unfiltered_html can remain disabled.
